Corporate history

July, 1995 Mr. Tadashi Sugiyama started Sugichu Corporation, Ltd. based on his human network created by his working for about 20 years at the previous company, and investment and cooperation by some manufactures of dried smoked skipjack.
1996 Importing frozen skipjack from Southeast Asia was started.
1997 Handling yellowfin tuna for sashimi (sliced raw fish) was started.
1999 Importing frozen skipjack tuna from the Philippines was started. Katsuobushi (dried smoked skipjack) was started to be produced under contract manufacturing at fishery companies in the Philippines. Importing frozen skipjack from the Philippines was got into full swing.
2000 Dried shrimp was started to be handled.
2001 Importing Katsuobushi from China was started.
2002 Importing Katsuobushi from the Philippines was got into full swing.
2007 Importing and sales of tuna for sashimi from abroad was got into full swing.
2010 License for importing business of special manure was approved.
2011 Importing materials of manure from Southeast Asia was got into full swing.
